Announcing The Rise of Sustainable Giving

This day has been a long time coming, and I’m so glad it’s nearly here.

20 years of experience.

36 months of research.

438 hours of outlining, interviewing, writing, editing.

Plus, hundreds more of dreams, plans, sweat, and work.

I’m pleased to announce that my new book, The Rise of Sustainable Giving will be releasing in just a few weeks.

There is a generosity crisis in North America.

The number of individuals giving to charity is on the decline. This is an alarming statistic for nonprofits that rely on the generosity of everyday people. But amidst these challenges, a new opportunity has arisen: the subscription economy is transforming donor behavior, making recurring giving more accessible to more charities than ever before.

If you’ve followed me for some time, you know I’ve been preaching about the increasing importance of recurring giving for years, including the growing role of sustainable giving in the generosity crisis.

Three years ago, I saw this as such a massive—and new—opportunity for charities that I resolved to write a book about it. But I didn’t want to just write about what I knew from my own experience. I wanted to truly understand as much as I could about what was happening in recurring giving in North America so that I could help nonprofit leaders understand how to take advantage of it.

So I embarked on a journey.

✅ I conducted a national sustainer study with some of the nation’s top charities doing recurring giving.

✅ I interviewed charity leaders, asking them what was working, what wasn’t, and what they wished they knew about unlocking growth.

✅ I consulted with experts in subscriptions and the subscription economy and scoured the current literature and data on trends.

✅ I spoke at conferences from D.C. to Dallas, Orlando to Seattle, Nashville to Myrtle Beach to share what I was learning and hear from nonprofits what they were seeing.

✅ I worked with our clients at Imago Consulting, doing deep-dive assessments, action plans, and coaching sessions.

After three years, I’m happy to announce that The Rise of Sustainable Giving is almost here

This is a pivotal moment… but not because of all the proverbial blood, sweat, and tears.

This is a pivotal moment because it represents a tidal shift… a WAVE of opportunity for 1.1 million nonprofits who have historically been left behind. This moment represents a WAVE for millions of North Americans participating in the subscription economy who want to make the world a better place and are more willing to give to charities on a recurring basis than at any other time in history. 🌊

Would you do me a favor?

If this message resonates with you, would you pre-order the book?
