This is the Moment

Iโ€™m writing this Wave Report with a great sense of relief. The manuscript of the book is now โ€“ finally โ€“ with the editor! ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™Œ

If you are new around here, Iโ€™m deeply passionate about helping leaders create profitable growth through innovation, and Iโ€™m writing a book about how the Subscription Economy is transforming recurring giving โ€“ and what nonprofits can do to benefit. There are many steps to go, but Iโ€™m celebrating this one step closer to putting this important message into the world.

As I was reflecting on this major personal milestone this morning, one thought kept coming to me over and over again โ€“ this is the moment.

This is the moment.

This is the moment for nonprofit leaders to rise and harness a new wave of opportunity to transform their organizations. To build resilient, sustainable streams of funding.

Tens of thousands of nonprofits still see recurring giving as unattainableโ€ฆ not for themโ€ฆ out of their reach.

I spoke with a charity leader just this week who felt that way. One of their staff had recently heard me give a keynote on the topic, so they wanted to explore โ€“ was sustainable recurring giving even a possibility for them?

To his credit, he wanted to explore it, but he was uncertain if the opportunity was for them. Historically, they have had very little going for them in recurring giving โ€“ they donโ€™t have a one-to-one sponsorship program, they donโ€™t offer direct benefits to donors, and they donโ€™t have an offer conducive to monthly giving.

The good news is that everything has changed. Those old rules no longer apply. The Subscription Economy is transforming the landscape of philanthropy, leading to new opportunities for charities to build resilient, sustainable streams of recurring giving.

Sustainable giving is more accessible to more nonprofits than at any other time in history, and I'm fired up about it!

This is the moment.

I recently was on the Nonprofit Hub Podcast to talk with host and friend Meghan Speer about the opportunity and some common mistakes I see nonprofits make when growing their sustainer program.

Above: Fired up about innovation and helping nonprofit leaders take advantage of the rise of sustainable giving in the Subscription Economy.
